Check this out. Why didn't these cans ever make it to store shelves? They're made by Owens Illinois. This is a Glass Manufacturing company so it is kind of weird that these bottles are made of plastic but they do look cool. My dad works for Owens Brockway which is a division of O-I so that's why I'm writing about this. I don't spend my days thinking about the future of soda cans.

  1. Back in the eighties, there was a huge asbestos class action law suit against Owens-Illinois. I think this gi-normous law suit was the impetus for the name change. Cool looking cans, but I don't think that OI will ever be able to shake the stigma. To me Owens Illinois means asbestos - medical records for these folks were nothing short of alarming. I DO - I mean, spend my time thinking of the future of soda cans....
